Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans
Label: Ed Banger Records
Four years after Uffie had her first hit with "Pop the Glock," the American-born, Paris-based pint-sized rapper finally releases her debut album. With her ex-boyfriend Feadz and Madonna collaborator Mirwais sharing production duties, the album veers from saucy electro-pop to blippy indie rock. Despite the Ed Banger imprimatur, it's mellower than most French electro, and also more diverse: The title track samples the Velvet Underground, Pharrell guests on "ADD SUV," and "Hong Kong Garden" is a Siouxsie cover. It's not the most coherent album, but it has its charms.
