Label: Reservoir
The debut release (sort of) on Tritt's Post Oak Records, The Calm After... gathers the 12 tracks that comprised 2007's The Storm (the original label, Category 5, went out of business shortly thereafter) and supplements them with two new tracks taken from the same sessions. The first, a father-daughter duet on Don Henley and Patty Smyth's "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," swells with last-dance-of-the-night emotion, and Tritt alone sounds great on the second, a cover of the Faces' "Stay With Me" that doesn't quite equal Gretchen Wilson's rendition but still gives it a good run.
