Hold an Old Friend's Hand
The Walker Brothers got back together in 1975 after nearly a decade apart and cut this compelling light rock set. Scott Walker's brilliant cover of Tom Rush's "No Regrets" stormed up the U.K. charts, but the rest of the album didn't follow it. "Burn Our Bridges" and "Everything That Touches You" prove that Scott could've had a career as a Neil Diamond style pop vocalist if his heart was really in it, while tracks like "Lover's Lullaby" are steeped in his innate weirdness. This is not a great album but it's an interesting stab at country-ish light rock and nowhere near the train wreck that some critics have claimed it was.
