Hide (feat. Sinead Harnett)
The London quartet's debut album topped the charts upon its U.K. release, and no wonder. Home is a landmark of British youth culture in the tradition of Roni Size and Reprazent's New Forms. Drum 'n' bass is the group's bread and butter -- soaring, triumphant and resolutely festival-sized -- but they adeptly fold R&B, deep house and futuristic pop into the mix, resulting in a richly varied album full of strong cameos from a host of rising singers like John Newman and Sinead Harnett. This has been a great year for music; here, 2013 feels positively triumphant.
