The landmark 1977 debut from Motörhead was actually their second album; their first was denied release by United Artists and only saw the light of day in 1979, as On Parole. Motörhead opens with the last song Lemmy wrote for his previous band, Hawkwind, and essentially lays the blueprint for the stripped-down, horrendously loud combination of punk and metal that he, Fast Eddie Clark and Philthy Animal Taylor would crank out for the next hundred years. As may be expected, Lemmy's vocals sound like absolutely no one else's, and "Vibrator" is closer to The Ramones than Sabbath.
