Juanes waited four long years between albums but apparently spent that time setting himself on fire because Loco crackles with energy and life. The bubbling, electro-pop title track; the twangy sunset-and-cerveza rocker "Persiguiendo el Sol;" the effulgent, can't-stop-listening, tribal-laced lead single "La Luz" -- it's all vibrant, soul-afire stuff, much of it flecked with surprising bits of electro-beats. Even where the flames wane a bit, like on the blandly pleasant "Laberinto" or the martial-rock-meets-electro-pop jam "La Verdad," Juanes' resonant, intimate voice will keep you smoldering.
