Greatest Hits is a quality introduction to Jett's pummeling confusion of hard rock, punk, metal, glam and bubblegum. The legendary rocker and pioneering lesbian icon sure does love her big riffs, sledgehammer grooves and scream-along choruses. After opening with re-recordings of The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb," "You Drive Me Wild" and "School Days," the anthology shifts to true solo Joan. All the hits are present, including her primal reworking of Tommy James' "Crimson & Clover" (note how Joan didn't change "her" to "him") and, of course, "I Love Rock N' Roll," one of the genre's coolest anthems.
