À propos de Far East Movement
Far East Movement took the world by surprise when its club-smashing single "Like a G6" made them the first Asian American group to reach the Top 10 singles chart. But the quartet weren't overnight sensations; they spent nearly a decade busking in the L.A. underground. Kevin "Kev Nish" Nishimura, James "Prohgress" Roh, Jae "J-Splif" Choung and Virman "DJ Virman" Coquia formed Far East Movement in 2003 as a backpack rap group. Though they released a 2006 debut, Folk Music, they were better known for organizing parties and events around the city. Far East Movement's sound began to evolve with the rise of the electro-hop scene in the late 2000s. In 2009, they issued a second official album, Animal, which yielded a regional hit in "Girls on the Dance Floor," and helped them land a key slot on LMFAO's "Party Rock" tour. The single "G6" was released late that year, and its burgeoning success led to a deal with Interscope, but it took nearly a year before the song became a national hit. In October 2010, Far East Movement issued its first national album, Free Wired.
