The production on Epiphany is slightly more modern than on Chrisette Michele's debut. Synth squiggles augment piano lines and, in general, the tracks feel more elastic and slightly less stately. Still, Michele has an incredibly warm, immeasurably beautiful voice that wraps around whatever track her producers throw at her. This is a sublime, accomplished sophomore album, particularly when the songs rise to her talent -- see the title track written by Ne-Yo.
