By 1987 the Brothers Gibb figured enough time had passed for the public to forget about their disco transgressions, and they released E.S.P.. This slick platter equals anything Phil Collins or Steve Winwood were doing in the late '80s, but Americans wouldn't forgive the Bee Gees yet. Things were different in Europe, though, where this was a major hit. Neither side of the Atlantic got it right. E.S.P. isn't a bad album, but it is a forgettable one. The Bee Gees were rarely forgettable.
