A Woman's Worth (Remix)
Label: J Records/Legacy
This anniversary edition of Alicia Keys' multi-platinum debut includes a few session outtakes that emphasize the original album's strengths. "Juiciest (Mixtape Version)" (which blends "How Come You Don't Call Me" with Mtume's "Juicy Fruit") and a Nas verse on "A Woman's Worth (Remix)" underline her hip-hop background, while the interesting but half-finished "Typewriter" hints at hidden jewels left on the studio console. Though it hardly needs to be said, the original album, and Keys' shrewd melding of Prince and Roberta Flack influences with neo-soul and NYC hip-hop, is the main focus here.
