Pushing 70 and still regularly kicking health problems Lemmy’s naturally obsessed with mortality lately, but when wasn’t he? “Life blows your candle out” he sings in the opening pep talk “Victory or Die,” followed by life-on-the-road rager where “Maybe you’ll die, maybe you’ll fly.” Razor-sharp, fuzzing fast and straight to the point, the metal could have come off any previous Motörhead album. Hints of voodoo psychobilly (“Evil Eye”) and space-Hawkwind (“Choking on Your Screams”) also stand out, as does the closing cover of “Sympathy for the Devil” that feels like the blueprint for “Orgasmatron.”
