Man On Fire
Label: Vagrant Records
"Only one desire that's left in me/ I want the whole damn world to come dance with me," frontman Alex Ebert croons on opener "Man on Fire." It makes you think this free-loving collective must have a handful of "Home" sequels up its sleeve. Instead, the band ventures further out into the prairie for a more subdued second album, a set entrenched in simple folk, old-timey country, whistling jams and campfire sing-alongs. They get giddiest when Ebert and Jade Castrinos duet, like on playful romps "That's What's Up" and "I Don't Wanna Pray," but mostly Here is about peace, love and rumination.
